See Which Big Names Are Coming Back For Outdoor Track

Four big names seem primed to make their returns to the VA track scene this spring. These athletes missed indoor track for a number of reasons but the most important thing is that they are coming back and ready to light up the leaderboards.

The first of these athletes returning is Olivia Beckner, the 6A State XC Champion. She dealt with minor injuries during the indoor season and will return likely at near 100% this spring. Be ready for a very quick sub 4:50 mile from this South Lakes' star.

Her rival, Heather Holt, also looks to be returning after a tumultuous XC and indoor track season. This NC State commit was able to train for just two weeks and make the Foot Locker national team. That should tell you the type of shape she is in when she returns. These two will fight for every single distance title this outdoor track season.

Another distance runner making his return is Karl Thiessen, the twice defending 3A State XC Champion. The Abingdon senior returns after taking some time off, not for injury, during the indoor season and should help Phoebus a lot with those team points as his presence will take away big points from the distance teams.

Finally we also will see Gabrielle Holliday of J.R. Tucker return. She has throw 142-6 and 39-3 in the discus and shot put. She will contend for the thrower of the year this outdoor season. She faced an injury around the end of the XC season.
