Will Brodey Hasty Go Sub Four at The VA Showcase?

Brentwood senior and University of Oregon commit, Brodey Hasty is arguably the best miler in the entire nation. He owns a 4:01.75 best in the Mile and a quick 14:32 for 5K. Basically anything between those two distances he owns a fast time as well.

Many would say that he is not only fast but that he is arguably one of the best ever and the heir apparent to Drew Hunter's throne. After all, they do compare very closely thru their junior campaigns. The real test though for Brodey will come in how he performs on the biggest stages. He, just like Drew, enters his senior season with a huge target on his back and just one national title (indoors 2 Mile).

Brodey will begin his senior campaign at the 2018 VA Showcase AAU meet where he will be anchoring the AAU DMR and running in the AAU 1K.

Last year he was able to out-kick the entire field for the win with many All-American teams running. This year though he will certainly have to find another gear and potentially go sub four to win.

This year clubs from Brentwood, Loudoun Valley, St. Peter's, Mount Tabor, Ocean Lakes, and Bishop Shanahan are all competing. Those teams' anchors combine for a 4:05.4 average 1600m split meaning every single second will count heading into the anchor legs.

Those likely anchors include: Brodey Hasty, Josh HoeyCameron Ponder, Sam Affolder, Brent Bailey, and Ryan Tierney
