Apex Friendship Freshman Tim Haughton took 8th place at the SWAC Championships yesterday with a very impressive time of 4:26.88. That moved him ahead of Providence Day's Adam Habas for the top freshman 1600m runner in NC this season, and the first under 4:30. That had me thinking where does Haughton's time rank amongst freshman from previous years. Our database pulled times back to 2009 and I've pulled the top 10 freshman 1600m runners for each year. If you look at the list Haughton is certainly in good company with studs like Philip Hall and Bakri Abushouk at the top of this list. Haughton also has clocked an impressive 9:49.28 for 3200 meters this outdoor season.
