As we continue to wrap up the 2016 high school year, it's time to use some "outside the box" rankings to look back on the best individuals and teams of the outdoor season. In this article, we rank schools on the depth and strength of their sprints and hurdles using cross country scoring. All the athletes in our database are ranked for each event, and then assigned points equal to their ranking (1 point for 1st, 2 points for 2nd, etc.). Each school's top 5 athletes are then added up to receive a total score, and the lowest total score is the best! We will continue this series with field events as the week goes on.
