Where did Anna Cockrell forst go sub-24 in the 200?  The same meet where Trentavis Friday first broke 47, then the next year first broke 21.  The same meet where Craig Engels and John Crossley first broke 1:50.  What can YOU do at a meet like that?

Back in 2009 former Bishop McGuinness coach Robbie Youtz came up with the idea for a postseason "tune-up" meet that would help athletes bridge the gap between the state meet and outdoor nationals.  The meet became popular very quickly, and in 2012 NCRunners signed on as a sponsor.  The meet changed locations last year, moving to Marvin Ridge High School in Waxhaw to try to get more South Carolina talent involved, with the goal of eventually growing the event into a 4-state Border Clash!

Over the years, Coach Youtz's idea has grown into a major meet that has impacted the national rankings as well as the All-Time NC Rankings.  Just take a look at some of the meet records:

  • Trentavis Friday (Cherryville): 10.17 for 100 Dash, 20.33 for 200 Dash, 46.97 for 400 Dash
  • Craig Engels (Reagan): 1:49.89 for 800 Run
  • Anna Cockrell (Providence Day): 13.21 for 100H, 23.71 for 200 Dash, 1:00.26 for 400H
  • Laurie Barton (Daniel SC): 2:08.93 for 800 Run
  • Breanna Warren (Western Guilford): 154' 9" Discus Throw

The best part of the meet is, ANYBODY CAN PARTICIPATE!  The meet is open to high school athletes of any ability level, with no cut-offs for entry.  So whether you're prepping for New Balance Nationals, looking for one last shot at that big PR, or just want another meet to close out the season, this is the meet for you!  A fun, relaxed, but highly competitive meet with an "under the lights" atmosphere and multi-state competition - you can ONLY find that at the NCRunners Elite Tune-Up & Border Clash!

Entries Close Wednesday Night at Midnight!
