With more meets on the schedule and more talent in the meets than ever before, the 2014 indoor season promises fireworks.
3A Gets Own State Meet
The NCHSAA has separated the 3A classification into its own state meet starting this year, which means there will be three distinct meets: 4A, 3A, and a combined 1A/2A. The time schedule for state meet weekend has not been finalized yet, but there will most likely be one meet on Friday, February 7th, with the other two on the next day with a similar time schedule to last year's event. Qualifying standards for the 1A/2A meet are also in development (see this NCRunners forum thread for some hints).

JDL Fast Track Upgrades Facilites and Support
North Carolina's only dedicated indoor track facility, now entering its second full season of operation, has already added so much to our sport. This year should be even better, with a host of improvements ready for the 2014 season. In addition to improvements at the facility, which include expanded seating and athlete warm-up areas, JDL has also added a wider range of events to the schedule, as well as attracting the support of some world-famous athletes. World silver-medalist Nick Symmonds will be competing in the Camel City Elite 800, part of the Hilton Garden Invitational on February 1st; Olympian and World Champion David Oliver will be on site to host the main high school invitational on the schedule, January 24th & 25th (now called the David Oliver Classic). Finally, the facility will be home to more events than last year, including several collegiate conference championships and the NCTCCCA Coaches' Clinic (January 3-4).
