The Nike Outdoor Nationals hosted its first ever 5,000 meter races in meet history on Thursday night and two Virginians walked away with All-American hardware as Syracuse bound Forest Park senior Stefanie Slekis earned All-American honors with a national runner-up finish in 17:44.17 and Longwood bound Oakton senior Matt Kroetch slipped in the top six with a fourth place finish to earn All-American honors in the boys\' 5K with a personal best time of 15:04.41. Zac Edwards of Northside (8th, 15:16.19), Chris Tyson of Washington-Lee (15th, 15:40.61) and Michael Leonard of Clarke County (18th, 15:45.03) also had strong showings in the boys\' race. Millbrook junior Jillian Pollack had a top eight finish in the girls\' race with a time of 18:34.78.
